That's a good question. If you aren't from around the Catawba County NC area or somewhere nearby, I suggest you purchase from a local shop that you can trust. Why do I say this? Doing business with a local shop and someone you can deal with face to face is best when at all possible, especially in the CB world. I try to help the local CB/Ham radio folks that are fed up with paying an arm and a leg for items and want quality equipment without having to travel a hundred miles etc. This website is really for the folks that have known me for years. If you need something shipped to you, I can still do that if you can't find a local shop to help you. I quit the full service shop back around Easter of 2007 and mostly went to selling some accessories via eBay because of family reasons and time constraints. I am still pretty hard to catch at home but am almost always easiest to catch between the hours of 4 and 6 pm. I know that's not much of a time window, but It will have to do. (Yes, I am around other times. That's just the most likely time to catch me.) Like anyone, I have got other things to do when I get home, errands to run, family & friends to be with etc.
Yes I am a ONE person business, so I STAY BUSY!
I first opened my business as Charlie's Electronics back in 1976 at Bandy's Crossroads in Catawba, NC. Later the name was changed to CFM Communications and finally changed to RadioWay Electronics in 2004. I have been a full service radio shop for a long time but have always been the "one man band" so I never did have time for installations or traveling around for service calls. I have always been tied up with the radio service bench or shop sales. Now I just setup the new equipment and sell items. Full time bench servicing is out of the question anymore, don't have the time for it and seeing butchered equipment makes me sick! I only do my warranty repairs and refer anything else to the manufacturer's warranty shop. The first thirty days I expect to take care of the details, (as long as it hasn't been diddled with by someone), after that it's between the customer and the factory.
I work full time first shift on Commercial Radio Equipment for local city government. It's what really pays the bills!
Remember to count your blessings and be thankful for what God has given to you each and every day.
